Forget the Patriots' offense; their defense is something special

Another dominating performance for the defense today down in Miami.

Dating back to last season's Super Bowl win over the Los Angeles Rams, the New England Patriots have allowed only six points in their last 180 minutes of football.

New England's defense has been on fire to start the 2019 campaign. After allowing only three points to the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, the defensive unit dominated yet again vs. the Miami Dolphins, as they gave up zero points, 184 yards and forced four interceptions, two of which they returned for touchdowns.

"We talked about it last week, just getting around the ball," said Patriots captain Devin McCourty during his postgame press conference. "You saw today, I had an interception off a tip, Jamie (Collins) had an interception off a tip.

"Just getting to the ball, being around the ball as much as possible. When we do those things turnovers are coming. One thing is playing well on defense, trying to get three-and-outs, not giving up touchdowns. But we know if we can turn the ball over, especially with our offense, we will be able to put up a lot of points."

Everyone knows how great the Patriot's offense is, but not enough is said about how incredible this team has become on the defensive side of the ball. In the next few weeks, the Patriots continue to play relatively weak offenses, battling the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Washington Redskins, and New York Giants, which should make way for more star-studded defensive performances from this star-studded Patriots roster.
