Josh Gordon Expected to Be Healthy in 1-2 Weeks, Will Then Be Waived by Patriots

We now have a timetable as too when Gordon will be healthy and no longer part of the Patriots organization.

Earlier this week New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon was placed on injured reserve because of a lingering knee issue. It was also reported that when Gordon is fully healthy he would be waived, which would then allow another team to sign him. The MMQB's Albert Breer said he was told Gordon's injury was "minor" and that he expected to be medically cleared soon. The question that was left to be answered: How far into the future is "soon"?

We now have that answer. 

According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, those close to Gordon feel that he will be ready in 1-2 weeks, and at that time it is expected he will be waived. 

Gordon's first crack at playing with another team will come after the Oct. 29 trade deadline and will likely be with one of the struggling teams in the NFL who are atop waiver priority, such as the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins, etc. If one of those teams chooses not to grab him, then a team who may not have had luck acquiring a receiver before the deadline may take a shot at acquiring the veteran receiver.
