Veteran tight end Benjamin Watson re-signed with the New England Patriots earlier this week after being released by the organization last week. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero detailed Watson's new contract with New England on Thursday.

According to Pelissero, Watson's new, prorated deal is for one-year, with $800,000 guaranteed. He can also earn an additional $140,000 in incentives. Watson earned about $686,000 from his previous deal with New England.

As Mike Reiss of ESPN noted, Watson's base salary is $1.2 million.

Ben Volin of the Boston Globe shared this info as well, adding that Watson's cap number is $940,000.

Back in May Watson had signed his original one-year, $3 million deal with the Patriots. Re-signing with New England this week allowed the team to save some money in the process.
