Former New England Patriots offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste has secured a team for the 2023 season.

After visiting with the Jets last week, Cajuste has reportedly decided to sign with the team on Tuesday, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post. Before this, Cajuste also met with the Giants after being released by the Patriots earlier this month.

Over the past two seasons, Cajuste has played in a total of 17 games for the Patriots. During the 2022 season, he appeared in 10 games and received the opportunity to start three of them. Cajuste demonstrated strong pass protection, allowing only three sacks across 197 offensive snaps played.

After being selected by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Cajuste encountered unfortunate injuries that caused him to miss the entirety of his first two seasons. However, the Patriots initially brought him back by re-signing him as a restricted free agent before ultimately releasing him earlier this month.

With the addition of Cajuste, the Jets' bolstered their offensive tackle room, adding a notable amount of depth to the position. The group consists of Duane Brown, Mekhi Becton, Billy Turner, Carter Warren, Max Mitchell, and Cajuste, forming a formidable lineup at the position.

The Jets strengthened offensive line should instill confidence in quarterback Aaron Rodgers that general manager Joe Douglas has provided him with ample protection. The improved tackle group indicates that the Jets are prioritizing the offensive line's strength, an important factor for Rodgers' comfort and success on the field.
