    Report: Patriots Sign TE Eric Tomlinson

    New England adds another TE to their 53-man roster.

    It appears that the New England Patriots aren't done adding to their tight end depth. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday morning that the Patriots are signing former Jets and Giants TE Eric Tomlinson. 

    New England are-signed Benjamin Watson on Monday, so adding Tomlinson to the roster is likely added insurance in the event that Watson or Ryan Izzo suffer an injury that forces them to miss time in the near future. 

    Matt LaCosse reportedly suffered an MCL sprain last week against New York which will force him to miss atleast a few weeks. It wouldn't be surprising if LaCosse was released to make room for Tomlinson on the roster.
