The Las Vegas Raiders have now officially added former Purdue quarterback Aidan O'Connell to their roster.

The club confirmed that the prospect signed with the Silver and Black on Thursday.

The Raiders selected O'Connell in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 135th overall.

O'Connell was a full-time starter in his final two seasons at Purdue, having thrown for 3,000 plus yards in both seasons.

He was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team by coaches for both those campaigns.

O'Connell left Purdue as the program's all-time leader in completion percentage (66.7 percent).

Overall, the quarterback threw for 9,219 yards and 65 touchdowns in his four active seasons with the Boilermakers.

O'Connell met with the Raiders a couple times prior to the draft.

"[I] had a formal interview at the combine with them and then had a meeting before my pro day with them as well," he told the media after he was drafted. "So a few meetings that I thought went well. I'm just going to try to come in and work as hard as possible, love my teammates and support them, and just be the best player I can be for our organization."

O'Connell said he's looking forward to working with Coach Josh McDaniels.

"Obviously, he's had success with guys who aren't the dual threat or the big run-option quarterbacks," he said. "And so, obviously he's a great offensive mind and I'm just excited to get there and get the playbook and start learning. I just love to learn about football. I love to talk about football. So excited to pick his brain, as well as the other coaches."
