When was the last time Aaron Donald's name was in the news because of something negative?

It seems like every time the Los Angeles Rams' defensive lineman is being talked about, there's some accolade or praising remark falling into Donald's lap. Just this past week, his alma mater — the University of Pittsburgh — renamed their football performance center after him.

He's arguably the best player in the NFL, he signed a record-breaking contract last season, and he is once again in the running for Player of the Year. But for Donald, that isn't enough.

“I enjoy it, I’m just not satisfied," Donald said on The Fan Morning Show. "I feel like a lot of people see me as I guess some type of superstar, but I just see myself as Aaron."

This type of mindset carries over to how Donald looks at the Rams' Super Bowl LIII appearance earlier this year; encouraged, but not at all content.

"Me not letting myself be satisfied is one of the main reasons I am who I am. I can't just sit down and chill for a whole week and not do any work, I feel like people are going to get better than me," Donald said. "So, me not letting myself be satisfied and like I said, having great people around me to push me, that’s always going to light the fire under your butt to keep going. I’m just addicted to working and trying to get myself better.”

Donald's competitive drive has already proved to be a difference maker for the LA defense, and if that mentality continues to spread throughout the locker room, there's sure to be more accolades thrown his way.
