There's a reason to celebrate in Los Angeles; one 2019 NFL season projection has the Lombardi Trophy coming home to LA.

Not so fast, Rams fans. This projection has the Los Angeles Chargers winning Super Bowl LIV, while the Rams are missing the playoffs.

USA Today's Nate Davis recently put out his predictions for every NFL team in the 2019 season, and he has the Rams pegged to finished at 9-7, barely missing the playoffs in the NFC. The San Francisco 49ers, rather than the Rams, are predicted to win the division behind Jimmy Garapolo.

According to Davis:

"Competition seems to be catching up to two-time defending division champs, who need Todd Gurley close to 100% in their bid to shake off the Super Bowl hangover that affects so many outfits that fall just short. And a rude wake-up call is coming with four of the first five road contests in Eastern time zone."

It may be a bit disrespectful to throw the Rams out of title contention just months removed from a Super Bowl appearance against the New England Patriots, but LA's lackluster performance on the big stage probably played their perception leaguewide in tepid waters.

Now, injury concerns are rampant within the organization, and an increased level of talent within the division could spell trouble for LA going forward. If the Rams are to make another deep playoff run, they will need Jared Goff and Sean McVay to reach new levels in order to do so.
