Los Angeles rookie running back Darrell Henderson will likely have it pretty easy in training camp this year.

He was drafted into a great situation — the Rams are coming off of a disappointing Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots in February, so the team remains hungry and maintains the talent needed to compete. He also has little pressure on him to produce in his first year out of college because one of the best RBs in the NFL — Todd Gurley — resides in LA.

However, while Gurley takes a bulk of the media attention as camp opens up for the Rams on Saturday, it will be interesting for the world to see how Los Angeles plans on deploying Henderson into the offense. Henderson will be vying for the No. 2 spot with Malcolm Brown, who has a leg up on experience, but his hype coming out of the draft has immediately sprung him into the national conversation.

Henderson has made an impression on the Rams already with his ability to offer multiple looks out of the backfield, which suggests why LA selected him in the first round. In addition to having a strong motor through the gaps of the line, Henderson has also shown an ability to catch passes and return kicks.

What training camp will show us just how much the Rams want us to see regarding Henderson and his ability. It will also give the world an indication of just how injured Gurley is. If the rookie starts getting a bulk of the touches, and they seem to be relying on his talent early on, more questions about Gurley and his knee will definitely arise.
