The greatest football player ever to step onto the field is calling it quits. ... again. ... and this time it's "for good."

On Wednesday, Tom Brady announced his retirement from the game of football, ending a two-plus decade-long career. Of his 23 seasons in the league he spent 20 in New England and the last three in Tampa Bay.

“I’m retiring. For good. I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I figured I’d just press record and let you guys know first,” Brady said in a video published via Twitter.

His accolades and accomplishments are well-documented, but he now leaves an organization that already had a lot of questions in the offseason with an even bigger one.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of their worst seasons offensively in 2022. In what would be the last for Brady, the Bucs managed just 18.1 points and 269.8 yards passing per contest on their way to an 8-9 record and a Wild Card defeat at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys.

Could the Buccaneers now be in the market for a new signal-caller to go along with their new offensive coordinator - whoever that ends up being?

Brady is retiring, Blaine Gabbart is a free agent, and Kyle Trask is on his rookie deal through 2024. So other than Trask, they have no quarterbacks on the roster.

With Jackson himself being a free agent, there's talk of the Ravens placing the exclusive franchise tag on him if a long-term deal cannot be worked out.

That would make him available to trade if Ravens' general manager Eric DeCosta decided that's what's best for the organization. If traded, Baltimore could receive a haul of draft picks in exchange.

That's just one of the scenarios surrounding Jackson and the Ravens. The offseason is just beginning, and it was the biggest storyline in the NFL until Brady announced his retirement.

If those two storylines intersect with a deal between the Bucs and Ravens, it could mean even bigger things in Baltimore.
