Redskins Final Injury Report: Reed, Davis ruled out vs Dolphins

It's probably a safe bet to assume Bill Callahan would like to have his full contingent of offensive weapons when his Washington Redskins take the field under his stewardship for the first time. That won't be the case, however, as his club will once again be without two key pass-catching contributores when they square off against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for Week 6.

Tight ends Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed will once again miss the contest while dealing with concussion symptoms. Reed has been out since taking a big hit from Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal in the preseason. Davis has been out since Week 4's loss to the New York Giants.

Jeremy Sprinkle and Jerome Cunningham will replace them on the depth chart.

Those aren't the only players who were ruled out after Friday's practice.Guard Wes Martin (chest), linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (hamstring) and safety DeShazor Everett (ankle) will also miss the contest.

Perhaps more importantly than any of the players who are no doubt out of the lineup, is the questionable designation for left tackle Donald Penn. Filling in all season for the still-holding-out-doesn't-seem-close Trent Williams, Penn increased his activity throughout the week on his injured hamstring. He missed Wednesday's practice, was limited Thursday, but was a full participant on Friday.

That's great news for Case Keenum, who will return to the starting lineup on Sunday after missing Week 5 with his foot injury.

As for the Dolphins, they have an extended list of 10 players with a designation of questionable, but none who are doubtful or ruled out.

  • OL Jesse Davis (elbow)
  • WR Jakeem Grant (hamstring)
  • LB Trent Harris (foot)
  • CB Xavien Howard (knee)
  • S Reshad Jones (ankle)
  • CB CHris Lammons (toe)
  • S Bobby McCain (hamstring/shoulder)
  • WR Albert WIlson (calf/hip)
  • CB Johnson Bademosi (ankle)
  • RB Kalen Ballege (foot)
