NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans Saints might have wanted to put running back Devine Ozigbo on the practice squad. Instead, the Jacksonville Jaguars claimed the undrafted rookie running back from Nebraska off waivers and will put him on the 53-man roster.

Ozigbo showed flashes as a rusher and a pass catcher in four preseason games, but the Saints opted to keep a three-man tailback group with Alvin Kamara backed up by Latavius Murray and Dwayne Washington.

Washington hasn't practiced or played since his concussion in the third preseason game against the New York Jets, but his special teams play certainly is valued.

In four preseason games, Ozigbo rushed 21 times for 92 yards and caught nine passes for 61 yards and a touchdown. The Saints waived Ozigbo during the roster cut-down process from 90 to 53 players.

Now with the Jaguars, Ozigbo could be in line to face his former team when the Saints visit Jacksonville in Week 6.
