The New Orleans Saints have officially ruled out running back Alvin Kamara and tight-end Jared Cook because of injuries. Kamara was already battling a high ankle sprain and then tweaked his knee against the Jacksonville Jaguars from a tackle early in the game.

The Saints will turn to Latavius Murray to start at running back with Dwayne Washington and Zach Zenner as his backups on Sunday.  Washington’s collegiate career was with the University of Washington from 2012 to 2015, where he gained 1,311 yards in 225 attempts and 411 yards from 41 receptions.  He has 463 yards in 137 attempts and 76 yards from 12 receptions while a member of the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.  His best game as a Saints player was in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers, where he gained 108 in 11 rushing attempts.

Josh Hill will take on most of the tight-end duties with Jared Cook on the mend, and plan to see Taysom Hill used in blocking and passing sets within Sean Payton’s offense.  As a tightend, Josh Hill’s reputation is better known for his blocking skills than as a playmaker in the passing game.  Hill has 92 receptions for 877 yards at a 9.34 yards per catch average and 11 touchdowns.  The previously undrafted free agent signed in 2013 and has played in 93 games for the Saints.

Latavius Murray, Dwayne Washington, Josh Hill (TE), and Taysom Hill will all have important roles for Teddy Bridgewater and Payton in Sunday's battle in Chicago.
