Seahawks Top-5 All Pro's: Geno Smith Snubbed?

The Seattle Seahawks had five players finish in the top-five in NFLPA All-Pro voting at their respective positions - was quarterback Geno Smith one of them?

There's no greater praise than that which comes from one's peers - and for five Seattle Seahawks, that means finishing top-five in All-Pro voting done by active players via the NFLPA.

Kicker Jason Myers (first), safety Quandre Diggs (third), defensive tackle Al Woods (fifth), cornerback Tariq Woolen (fifth) and special teamer Nick Bellore (fifth) all earned high marks from players around the NFL - but what about quarterback Geno Smith?

After leading the NFL in completion percentage, Smith earned his first Pro Bowl nod and is headed towards a hefty contract extension.

But for now, Smith finds himself behind Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs), Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles), Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals) and Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens) in the eyes of his peers.

It's difficult to fault any of the selections, though Jackson did miss the final five games of the regular season with a knee injury. Nonetheless, Smith's breakout season remains impressive ... even if it wasn't quite enough to be in contention for All-Pro honors.

Of those who finished top-five, only Myers was officially voted as an All-Pro by the NFLPA, and he's joining Smith in Las Vegas for the Pro Bowl - as are Woolen and Diggs.

Woolen is one of only three rookies to make the top-five, as fellow cornerback Sauce Gardner (New York Jets) finished just ahead of him in fourth at the position while New England Patriots punt returner Marcus Jones ranked second at his role.

Despite drawing admiration from their competitors, neither Woods nor Bellore officially earned All-Pro or Pro Bowl honors, though it's clear they're highly thought of around the league.

Regardless, it's a fitting finish to the Seahawks' stout season, and many other impactful players - like Smith - surely just missed the cut. As a result, there's plenty to look forward to in the years ahead ... such as monitoring how much the list grows next year.
