Seahawks WATCH: Jaxon Smith-Njigba's Big Catch Leads to TD vs. Cowboys

Seattle Seahawks rookie receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba showed why he was a first-round pick during the first half of Saturday's preseason tilt against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Seattle Seahawks saw their rookies make big plays in the first half of Saturday's preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys at Lumen Field.

But none were bigger than the catch receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba made midway through the second quarter.

Faced with a 2nd and 3, Drew Lock hooked up with JSN downfield, and the rookie showed superb awareness by snagging the ball over his left shoulder before making it all the way to the one-yard line after a 48-yard catch-and-run.

Though Smith-Njigba won't get credited with the touchdown, he may as well have been, as DeeJay Dallas walked in for six on the next play to give Seattle a 10-7 lead.

Lock praised Smith-Njigba leading up to the game, and the two showed some chemistry as a potential result.

"He's going to be a great player," Lock said. "I'm extremely impressed with just, this is going to sound weird, but just the way he's able to move. The way he runs his routes, they're crisp, defined. He knows how to get open. When you give him the ball, he's going to catch it. He is sure-handed."

The Seahawks will look to maintain their lead as halftime approaches.
