Steelers injury report: No Sean Davis, four rookies inactive

Noah Strackbein

It's no surprise the Steelers will no be with safety Sean Davis in their opening game against the Patriots. The safety will miss the team's game in New England as he heals from an ankle injury. Joshua Dobbs and Chukwuma Okorafor will not play tonight as well.

Pittsburgh will also leave four rookies inactive during their first NFL game. Justin Layne, Fred Johnson, Zach Gentry and Isaiah Buggs will have to wait for their professional debut, being listed as inactive tonight.

With Gentry on the sidelines, the Steelers will only use two tight ends for Week 1. Vance McDonald and Xavier Grimble will be the only tight ends as Pittsburgh heads into Sunday night.

Kickoff starts at 8:20. Pittsburgh looks to make a mark with a statement win in Foxborough. The Patriots are the NFL's hottest topic after signing former Steeler Antonio Brown, yesterday.
