What to watch in the backfield this week during Steelers Camp

Pittsburgh Steelers are making positive headlines for the first training camp in two years, and this week they'll be watching another bright spot on the offense.

The backfield is more than James Conner this season. Benny Snell Jr. and Jaylen Samuels will certainly be involved in the running game, but it's another duty of a running back the coaches will be watching this week.

Last week, Ben Roethlisberger talked about how he's seen promise in the receiving game from all three of his backs. No surprise from Samuels, but the other two have been surprisingly good.

So, all eyes will be on James Conner, who has been known to be a reliable pass catcher from the backfield, and Snell, who's hoping to make noise everywhere in his rookie season.

Before the team's first preseason game, keep an eye on the pass-catching backs. If they can develop into strong players with more than running skills, this offense just became even more dangerous.
