Steelers Bring Bud Dupree in for Free Agent Visit

The Pittsburgh Steelers are nearing a Bud Dupree reunion.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in outside linebacker Bud Dupree for a visit, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. After reports of their interest in re-signing him, a reunion could be on the horizon for the former first-round pick.

Dupree and the Steelers were reported to have mutual interest following his release by the Tennessee Titans. Now, Pittsburgh will test Dupree's health - which is a concern following his ACL surgery a little over two years ago. If everything comes back clean, and the two sides agree on a deal, it seems as if Dupree will return to his first NFL home.

Dupree would join T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith, playing the primary backup role at edge rusher. The Steelers have attempted to fill the role since his departure in 2021.

Dupree will be looking to bounce back in Pittsburgh after recording just seven sacks during his two seasons with the Tennessee Titans.
