Former Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster Responds to Controversial Holding Call in Super Bowl

The former Pittsburgh Steelers wideout said there was no question about the call.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster won his first Super Bowl as the Kansas City Chiefs walked away winners in Arizona at Super Bowl LVII.

To set up the win, Philadelphia Eagles cornerback James Bradberry was called for a defensive holding call against Smith-Schuster that set the Chiefs up for a game-winning field goal as time expired.

While social media and the public were torn on whether or not a flag should have been thrown on the play, Smith-Schuster believes the correct call was made.

"Oh yes, a hundred percent," he said when asked if the holding call was correct. "My route was strike in and then strike back out. I mean, Bradberry is a good player but I feel like the call is gonna be called."

Bradberry also addressed the call and agreed that it was holding.

"It was holding," Bradberry said after the game. "I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide."

Smith-Schuster finished the night with seven receptions for 53 yards as he took home his first Lombardi Trophy of his career.
