Steelers Lose WR Steven Sims to Texans

The former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver is headed to the Houston Texans.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers will move forward without wide receiver Steven Sims, who has signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, according to KPRC2's Aaron Wilson.

Sims went in for a visit during the week and ended up signing a one-year deal in Houston. He'll return to his hometown to play for the Texans, coming off a 12-game season with the Steelers where he averaged 25.5 yards per kick return while catching 14 passes for 104 yards.

Sims seemed to be a player the Steelers would keep this offseason, but after he hit the market as an unrestricted free agent, things quickly changed.

Now, the Steelers will move forward with five wide receivers on their roster - Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, Calvin Austin, Gunner Olszewski and Anthony Miller. They have shown interest in some NFL Draft wide receivers like Jordan Addison and Xavier Hutchinson.
