Steelers Looking for 'Their' Wide Receiver

The Pittsburgh Steelers might need to chase a new slot option with an evolving NFL.

PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers aren't closing the door on free agency, and continue to make their way through the Pro Day trail and prepare for the NFL Draft. And as they do so, they have their sights set on a wide receiver.

During his media session at the League Meetings, Steelers general manager Omar Khan said the team is continuing to look for a slot wide receiver either in free agency or the NFL Draft.

"We’re looking to upgrade at every position, so, I’d say yes, we’re obviously going to look at the slot position and identify what the slot means to us," Khan told SteelersNow. "The slot receiver for everyone is a little different."

So, what is "their" style of wide receiver?

In years past, it's been JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool. Last year, they hoped it would've included a mix of Calvin Austin III. And during this NFL Draft period, they're showing interest in both sides.

What's the more realistic option for Pittsburgh? Well, it depends on how highly they're aiming with their next wideout.
