Remembering legendary kicker Tom Dempsey

Former kicker Tom Dempsey, who set an NFL record with a 63-yard field goal in 1970, died Saturday from complications related to COVID-19.

He was 73.

Dempsey, who had been suffering from dementia, was one of the league's first "long-distant" kickers, and his 63-yard record stood for 43 years, or until Matt Prater broke it in 2013.

Prater broke it by one yard.
