Houston Texans Sign Brennan Scarlett to a One-Year Extension

The Houston Texans have extended the contract of outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett. The Texans and Scarlett agreed to a one-year extension that will keep him in Houston until 2020 and pay him $3.75 million for the extra year of the deal.
Scarlett has been one of the Texans more versatile players on the roster for the past couple season. He has been a critical player in the special teams unit, an outside linebacker, and Scarlett has also started games as an inside linebacker.
In three seasons, Scarlett has appeared 30 games posted 54 total tackles, 2.0 sacks, 7.0 tackles for loss, five quarterback hits and an interception.
Scarlett was signed as a rookie free agent from Stanford after the 2016 NFL Draft.
