POGs: Titans Edition

Welcome back Texans fans! I hope by now you have all recovered from our week two heart attack. Another game, another great win for our team. Let's get it started with your Houston Texans week two Players Of the Game.

Houston Texans Offensive POG: DeAndre Hopkins

On the winning drive in overtime, it was Schaub to Hopkins all the way. Every play, Hopkins was working over his defender. With 7 catches for 117 yards, Hopkins showed he is clearly capable of handling the load when Johnson needs a break or, in this case, is injured on the side line by a big hit taken from an amazing catch to get us in the red zone. It's safe to say that DeAndre Hopkins was the right draft pick this year and he's only getting started.

Houston Texans Defensive POG: Brian Cushing

With 11 tackles and 2 sacks, Cushing has been playing on another level. After two weeks of amazing play, Cushing is showing what this team was missing last season. I'll add that J.J. Watt also had two sacks and 4 tackles and is looking well. Keep in mind, Antonio Smith is being worked back in and Ed Reed is on his way. From a personnel stand point, this defense is just getting started.

Houston Texans Special Teams POG: Shane Lechler

Combine the best punter in NFL history and one of the best defenses in the NFL, opposing offenses aren't going to have a good time. On multiple occasions, the Titans were starting out of their own endzone. Unfortunately, the Titans put together a scoring drive on one but, on another, Lechler's punt set up two Texans points via safety by Joe Mays. Seven total punts against the Titans, he put five of them inside the 20 yardline.
