JAN 11 HUGHES OUT The Houston Texans will be without defensive end Jerry Hughes on Saturday against the Cleveland Browns, as he attempts to recover from an ankle injury suffered in the regular season finale against the Colts.
However, he is not the only key Texans player in danger of missing the matchup, with seven other staters/major contributors - including rookie star Will Anderosn Jr. - also listed as questionable.

JAN 4 INJURED COLTS? Sunday's matchup with the Colts has already seen injured Texans that won't be able to participate. It's an important game for both teams as they try to qualify for the playoffs. The Colts currently hold the No. 7 and final spot, while the Texans are on the bubble at No. 8. They both have identical 9-7 records.
On Thursday, the Colts included six players who are questionable to play on Sunday.
Three offensive linemen — center Ryan Kelly (ankle), left guard Quenton Nelson (ankle) and right tackle Braden Smith (knee) — are among those with an injury designation of questionable. Smith practiced all day on Thursday but the others did not.
Cornerback Kenny Moore II (back), running back Zack Moss (forearm) and cornerback Chris Lammons (ankle) also are questionable.
NOV. 27 KNEE SCAN FOR HOWARD Following his injury sustained in Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans lineman Tytus Howard is set to receive scans on his left knee, reports indicated on Sunday.
Aaron Wilson of KPRC-TV was the first to report the news. Howard, a 2019 first-round pick, went down with the injury with about 20 seconds remaining in the first quarter. He was initially listed as questionable to return before being downgraded to "out" for the remainder of the game.
Second-round pick Juice Scruggs took over for Howard at left guard for the rest of the contest.
NOV. 26 Dameon Pierce Back After missing the previous two games due to an ankle injury, running back Dameon Pierce will return to the field for the Texans' Week 12 match against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Prior to his injury, Pierce had a subpar start to his second season, rushing for 327 yards on 109 carries. Despite the Texans regaining Pierce, Houston will be without Nick Broeker, Mike Boone, Noah Brown, Jake Hansen, Case Keenum, Myjai Sanders and Jimmie Ward against the Jaguars.
NOV. 25 TEXANS DOWN The Houston Texans are set for a major AFC South Divisional Battle vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. However, they will not be at full strength.
Per the latest Texans injury report, Houston will be without receiver Noah Brown (knee), linebacker Jake Hansen (hamstring, hand), and safety Jimmie Ward (hamstring).
However, there was also some potentially major good news to be found in the report, with running back and center Juice Scruggs both listed as questionable.
Pierce has not played since the Texan's October 29 loss to the Panthers, while Scruggs was designated for return off of injured reserve after missing the entire regular season to this point.
NOV. 24 INJURY TRACKER UPDATE Multiple notable Houston Texans were listed as "DNP" (did not practice) on Thursday as the team prepares to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Wide receiver Noah Brown (knee) and linebacker Will Anderson (knee) did not participate in Thursday's practice. In better news, however, Henry To'oto'o (concussion) and Laremy Tunsil (knee) were full-go this week in preparation for Jacksonville.

The Texans are seeking their fourth straight win on Sunday, but they will face a stiff test in the form of Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. CT on CBS.
NOV. 12 COLLINS/WARD OUT VS. BENGALS: Nico Collins (calf) and Jimmie Ward (hamstring) are two of seven inactive players for the Texans' Week 10 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Texans will also be without Brevin Jordan, Dameon Pierce, Jake Hansen, Henry To'oTo'o, and Andrew Beck.
In good news for the Texans, cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. will play on Sunday, after being activated from injured reserve earlier this week.
Bengals star wideout Ja'Marr chase will also be active on Sunday, with receiver Tee Higgins and defensive end Sam Hubbard among the notable inactives for Cincinnati .
NOV 11 FAIRBAIRN TO IR The Houston Texans placed kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn on injured reserve on Saturday as a result of the quad injury he suffered vs. Tampa Bay last week.
Fairbairn will now miss at least the next four games.
Without Fairbairn in the lineup, newly signed Matt Amendola will kick vs the Bengals on Sunday.
NOV 10 A LARGE INJURY REPORT As if a road trip to face the Cincinnati Bengals wasn't difficult enough, the Houston Texans will be coming into the game hampered by injuries.
The Texans released their injury report on Thursday, and there are over 20 players on the list, including a multitude of starters like Nico Collins, Laremy Tunsil and Will Anderson, who were listed as limited.

Houston and Cincy are scheduled for a 12 p.m. CT kickoff on Sunday, and the game will be televised on CBS.
NOV 8 STINGLEY BACK? The Houston Texans have activated the 21-day practice window on cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., the team announced Wednesday.
Stingley was able to return to the practice field on Wednesday, but his status for Sunday's matchup vs. the Cincinnati Bengals remains unclear.
The Texans have been without their top corner for the last seven weeks after Stingley was designated to injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
NOV 5 WARD INJURED The Houston Texans have lost safeties on back-to-back plays vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.
Veteran Jimmie Ward was the first one to exit the contest, coming up limping with a lower-body injury early in the second quarter. Ward was replaced by M.J. Stewart in the lineup.
However, on the very next play, Stewart was also shaken up, and helped off of the field with an upper-body injury. Stewart was taken to the injury tent.
In replacement of Stewart, the newly signed DeAndre Houston-Carson has come into the lineup.
OCT 29 PATTERSON SUSTAINS ANKLE INJURY: The Houston Texans sustained another injury to their offensive line Sunday vs. the Panthers. Rookie center Jarrett Patterson suffered an ankle injury and was carted off the field midway through the fourth quarter.
Patterson was the third-string center who started in place of Scott Quessenberry and Scruggs.
OCT 29 WOODS INACTIVE VS. PANTHERS: Robert Woods headlines one of six inactive players for Sunday's Week 8 contest against the Carolina Panthers. Woods was a non-participant for an entire week of practice due to a foot injury.
The Texans will also be without Brevin Jordan, Case Keenum, Myjai Sanders, Nick Broeker and Sheldon Rankins.
OCT 18 MURRAY TO IR Texans S Eric Murray was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in the team's win over the Saints on Sunday. The team made the announcement on Wednesday.
Murray has contributed on 43 percent of the Houston defensive snaps this year and 37 percent of special teams plays. In a corresponding move, the team elevated D'Angelo Ross to the 53-man roster and signed corner Alex Austin to the practice squad.
OCT 11 DELL IN CONCUSSION PROTOCOL The Houston Texans could be without one of their top weapons this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.
According to head coach DeMeco Ryans, rookie wide receiver Tank Dell has entered concussion protocol after being forced to leave the game during. the team's loss to the Falcons on Sunday.
“Tank is in the protocol, and we’ll see how he progresses throughout the week,” Ryans told reporters Monday. “Hopefully he starts to feel better. Definitely hurts not having him out there.”
Dell has been one of the most explosive players in the Texans offense this season, and has shown a great connection with his quarterback, fellow rookie, C.J. Stroud.
In five games for Houston, Dell has 19 catches for 324 yards and two scores, averaging 17.1 yards per catch.
“Tank is an explosive playmaker for us, but our thoughts [are] with Tank to make sure he gets back healthy as soon as possible,” Ryans said.
OCT 3 GREEN OUT The Houston Texans' offensive line was already suffering from major losses so far this season.
And on Tuesday, things got even worse, with guard Kenrick Green reportedly being ruled out indefinitely with a torn meniscus.
Green was originally brought in by the Texans as a replacement for second-year guard Kenyon Green, who was lost for the season with a shoulder injury before the season began.
Green started the last three games for Houston, logging 208 snaps over those three games.
OCT 1 PICKETT HURT The Houston Texans entered Sunday vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers looking for their second straight win.
And with the Texans already leading 16-6, the Steelers suffered a major setback, with starting quarterback Kenny Pickett going down with a lower-body injury.
Pickett had to be helped off of the field and will not return.
In replacement of Pickett, former Bears No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky has entered the lineup for Pittsburgh.
SEPT 27 TUNSIL OUT AGAIN? The Houston Texans could be set to be without their star left tackle Laremy Tunsil for the third consecutive week.
According to reports, Tunsil is trending toward being out for the third week in a row with a knee issue.
However, Tunsil is not the only Texas offensive lineman who could miss Sunday's game vs. the Steelers, with Josh Jones also reportedly expected to miss the matchup with a hand injury.
In some positive news for the Texans, safety Jalen Pitre did return to practice on Wednesday, after suffering an injury in the season opener vs. Baltimore and missing the last two weeks.
SEPT 24 TUNSIL OUT The Houston Texans will be without several of their top players for their AFC South matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Chief among those inactives is star left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who is battling a knee injury and will miss yet another game.
Denzel Perryman, Jalen Pitre, Derek Rivers, Tavierre Thomas, Dare Ogunbowale, and Case Keenum were also listed as inactive by the team.
SEPT 22 FOUR TEXANS OUT After a tough week of injury luck, the Houston Texans are set to be without four players for their upcoming AFC South tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Corner Derek Stingley Jr., who is set to miss six to eight weeks with a hamstring issue, is chief among those losses.
The Texans will also be without linebacker Denzel Perryman, safety Jalen Pitre and cornerback Tavierre Thomas.
Houston could also potentially be without star left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who is listed as questionable with a knee issue.
SEPT 15 STROUD QUESTIONABLE, PITRE OUT Could the Houston Texans be without rookie starting quarterback C.J. Stroud vs. the Colts? According to the team injury report, it's not out of the realm of possibility.
In the updated report released on Friday, the Texans listed Stroud as questionable with a right shoulder injury and limited him in practice.
Stroud was among three Texans listed as questionable, alongside tackle Laremy Tunsil and linebacker Neville Hewitt.
The Texans also listed the safety tandem of Jalen Pitre and Jimmie Ward as OUT, with the pair set to miss the game.

SEPT 13 MULTIPLE LIMITED AHEAD OF COLTS The Houston Texans released their Wednesday injury report ahead of their matchup with the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, with multiple key players limited or missing practice entirely.
Among the key players held out of practice entirely were safeties Jalen Pitre (chest) and Jimmie Ward (hip) and left tackle Laremy Tunsil (knee).
Linebackers Blake Cashman and Denzel Perryman, tackle George Fant, receivers Robert Woods and John Metchie III, and tight end Dalton Schultz, were all among the players limited on Wednesday.
SEPT 13 TWO TEXANS TO IR The Houston Texans have placed a pair of key players on injured reserve ahead of their Week 2 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.
Receiver Noah Brown and defensive end Hassan Ridgeway were both added to the list on Wednesday morning, meaning the pair will be forced to miss at least the next four games.
To replace their roster spots, defensive end Michael Dogbe and punter Ty Zenter were both signed to the active roster.
SEPT 12 JALEN PITRE RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL Houston Texans safety Jalen Pitre was knocked out of the team's season-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday with a bruised lung. And as a result of the injury, Pitre was taken to a local hospital for overnight observation.
24 hours later, however, the Texans and Pitre received good news, with the second-year playmaker being released from the hospital.
Pitre is expected to make a full recovery and is now back in Houston with his family, per reports.
AUG 30 SCRUGGS TO IR The Houston Texans have lost yet another offensive lineman to injury on Thursday, with rookie center Juice Scruggs being sent to injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
Scruggs was expected to start following the season-ending injury to Scott Quessenberry during the preseason.
Scruggs is just the latest in a long line of health issues for the Texans offensive line, who, along with the aforementioned Quessenberry, injury placed left guard Kenyon Green on injured reserve this week.
Right tackle Tytus Howard also had hand surgery on August 7, and is expected to miss regular season time.
AUG 7 HOWARD’S HAND Tytus Howard sustained a hand injury in practice Saturday, with coach DeMeco Ryans now acknowledging the standout tackle might be out of action “for a while.”
Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports that Howard, at age 27 a recent signee of a new three-year, $56 million extension, presently has a cast on the injured hand.
Word now is Howard could be out as long as six weeks, which obviously would eat into his regular season.
August 4 TEXANS QUESSENBERRY REPLACEMENT The Houston Texans announced the signing of undrafted free agent offensive lineman D.J. Scaife on Friday morning, giving the team a depth piece to help replace the loss of starting center Scott Quessenberry.
Quessenberry tore his ACL and MCL during training camp on Thursday, ending his season.
Scaife has positional versatility along the offensive front at guard and tackle, starting over 50 games with the Miami Hurricanes between the two positions.
The new contract, which has been described as a 'mega deal' by NFL insiders, is worth up to $260 million with $185 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid player in the NFL.
