Former Houston Texans edge rusher Jacob Martin is officially back in H-town.

After spending a season with the Jets and Broncos, the 27-year-old has agreed to sign a one-year deal Friday afternoon to join coach DeMeco Ryans and company.

Martin was released from Denver earlier this month, after only playing five games for the team due to a season-ending knee injury. He finished 2022 tallying just six tackles and one sack.

In three years with Houston, Martin was as reliable as could be, never missing more than three games of a season. By the end of his first Texans stint, the edge rusher tallied 10.5 sacks and 54 total tackles, making his presence felt as an impact player on the defense.

Now, with a chance at a second stint in Houston, Martin will undoubtedly be looking to remain healthy and make an impact for the Texans once again. Luckily for Martin, he will also have some help, joining first-round pick Will Anderson Jr., who recently changed positions to defensive end.

While his deal is just for one season, Houston's decision to bring him back only furthers the list of moves it's made to propel the franchise back into contention, as the Texans look to make a statement in Ryans' first year.
