Houston- After having their practice squad poached due to the Washington Redskins signing OL Kyle Fuller and Philadelphia Eagles signing OLB Daeshon Hall, the Houston Texans had to fill three spots. Also, the Texans signed OT Roderick Johnson to the active roster prior to game agains the Indianapolis Colts.
The Texans signed inside linebacker Keenan Gilchrist, offensive guard Maurquice Shakir and wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo to the practice squad.
- ILB Keenan Gilchrist who was with the Texans at the start of the season. Gilchrist was signed to the practice squad after being with the Dallas Cowboys. With the Texans in need of players on the practice squad, Gilchrist could be one of the easy choices for the Texans due to familiarity.
- OG Maurquice Shakir played his college football at Middle Tennessee and was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as a free agent after the 2017 NFL Draft. Shakir spent some time on the Ravens active roster but did not play a down.
- WR Amba Etta-Tawo has spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants since arriving as a free agent rookie in 2017. Etta-Tawo played at both Maryland and Syracuse.
