The Houston Texans have waived/injured rookie cornerback Johnny Adams from Michigan State. Adams has been injured since the beginning of training camp and was waived to open up a roster spot for newly signed Joe Mays.
Adams was signed after the draft and at 5-10 and 172 lbs. he didn't make a strong enough impression to overtake fellow rookies Travis Howard and A.J. Bouye. Also the addition of veteran Elbert Mack did not help the cause for Adams moving forward in camp.
With the release of Adams the Texans have eight cornerbacks in camp.
