Meet Your Newest Texan: Thaddeus Gibson
Patrick D. Starr
The Houston Texans this morning signed outside linebacker, Thaddeus Gibson to the practice squad. Gibson was worked out on Monday morning and ended up being offered a practice squad contract.
Gibson was drafted in the 4th round of the 2010 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers (116th overall). Gibson has bounced around to make the Texans his 4th team in two years, he also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins.
Gibson is an athletic outside linebacker at 6'2" 243 lbs., he definitely has the make up for an NFL linebacker. With only two career games to his name, he has 3 tackles and a forced fumble in his limited action.
He provides depth to the Texans on the practice squad, but with such a need for depth at the outside linebacker position, one would expect to see Gibson at some point during the season, if Brooks Reed, Bryan Braman or Jesse Nading can't handle the position on Sundays.
Gibson is #90 for the Buckeyes
