Report: John Perry Linked to Texans Coaching Staff

A new name has shown up for potential coaches who could end up with the Houston Texans and Bill O'Brien's new staff. Delaware Blue Hens' quarterback and passing game coordinator, John Perry has been linked to the tight end coach vacancy.

Perry joined the Blue Hens in February of 2013 after being the head coach at Merrimack College for the previous five seasons. He was the running backs coach at Northeastern (1993), wide receiver coach at New Hampshire (1997-1998), offensive coordinator at Dartmouth (1999-2004), associate head coach and quarterback coach at Georgetown (2005) and associate head coach and quarterbacks coach at New Hampshire (2007).

His connection with O'Brien came as the wide receivers coach at Brown (1994-1996) and not to mention he grew up with the new Texans head coach. He has known O'Brien for the past 35 plus years and it is apparent they have a good relationship.

O'Brien said this of Perry when he arrived to Delaware,
