Publish date:

The Houston Texans met with Florida Gators defensive back Duke Dawson at the Senior Bowl. Dawson played for the North team which was coached by the Denver Broncos. He missed the weigh-ins and the first day of practice due to strep throat but ended up practicing the final two days and playing in the game on Saturday.

In 2017, Dawson started all 11 games for the Gators and had 34 total tackles with 4 interceptions. Those 4 interception tied him for the team led and 3rd in the SEC in that category. Dawson was the 3rd best cornerback against SEC competition when targeted, only allowing a passer rating of 42.5.

For his career, Dawson played 48 games with 82 total tackles, 6 interceptions (3 of which were returned for touchdowns), and 23 pass breakups.
