Texans Release Danieal Manning
An attempt to make safety Daneial Manning take a pay cut has not materialized, and the Houston Texans will be parting ways with the veteran. The team will open up $4.5 million in cap space for the season, where Manning was only guaranteed $1.5 million of his $6 million salary.
This comes as little surprised after news came out that Manning and the Texans were at a standstill regarding his contract. With the Texans brining on two new safeties in Chris Clemons and Kendrick Lewis, the writing was on the wall for the 8 year veteran,
Manning was signed by the Texans prior to the 2011 season to a four year contract to help out a poor secondary. He has battled injuries with the Texans and missed 15 games in three season with the team.
Manning was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Abliene Christian.
