Texans Sign Joe Mays

Patrick D. Starr

The Houston Texans have signed inside linebacker Joe Mays

The signing of Mays comes as a positive sign for an inside linebacker position group that has been slowed by injuries. Mays will look to be the week one starter opposite Brian Cushing but will have to beat out Darryl Sharpton for the position.

Mays was drafted out of North Dakota State in the 6th round of the 2008 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. Mays spent two seasons with the Eagles, and the last three with the Broncos. He has appeared in 47 career NFL games and started 22 of them with 153 total tackles.
