Texans Sign One to the Practice Squad
The Houston Texans have brought back running back Javarris Williams and signed him to the practice squad. Williams was signed early in training camp to help during camp with all of the injuries to the running backs.
Williams was a 7th round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft when he was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs (212th overall) out of Tennessee State. Williams has spent time with the Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks before coming to Houston this year in camp.
Williams in preseason for the Texans had 10 carries for 80 yards with a long run of 38 yards. Williams will probably only be a practice squad body, and he has replaced Chris Ogbonnaya on the practice squad who was recently signed to the Cleveland Browns 53-man roster early this week.
