Washington Football Team Practice Report - Thursday September 3rd

On a hot and humid day at the INOVA Sports Performance Center, the Washington Football Team continued to ramp up for Philly.

The Washington Football Team will be pared down to 53 on Saturday, back up to a total of 69 players on either the active or practice squad by Sunday.

And then it is on for real. A typical bonus day will happen on Labor Day Monday and then we are live and for very real this Wednesday in a normal game week schedule.

Here's the latest from the INOVA Sports Performance Center in Ashburn on Thursday.

Injured Players not participating: Kendall Fuller, Saahdiq Charles, Antonio Gandy-Golden, Jonathan Allen, Thomas Davis Sr., Donald Payne and Morgan Moses were among the players that did not appear to be participating.

We won't get an official injury report until next week and Ron Rivera has clearly bristled at us asking questions about individual players, as he did on Thursday when I asked about the offensive tackle log jam issue due to Saahdiq Charles injury and when he was asked about Kendall Fuller, who has been out for about a week.

Part of Rivera's job - and his list of duties here is an admittedly long one - is to build a Super Bowl contender ... and to sell the world on that vision.

We don't know how good the tight end group is going to be but watching new position coach Pete Hoener is always going to be fun. To say he is old school and feisty would be a mega understatement.

After practice, Rivera spoke with reporters as he will five days a week.

Also, Defensive Coordinator Jack Del Rio met with reporters for the first time since late May.
