Kings' Anze Kopitar leaves game vs. Jackets with upper-body injury

Monday October 27th, 2014

The Los Angeles Kings could be without Anze Kopitar after the forward suffered an upper-body injury 13 minutes into the second period of Sunday’s game with Columbus.

Injured Capitals hope gifts of baked goods are the key to quick recoveries

Kopitar left the game after he was hit behind the Blue Jackets' net by defenseman Tim Erixon. He has been L.A.’s top scorer for the last seven seasons and has two goals and an assist through his eight games this season.  Kings coach Darryl Sutter declined to state if Kopitar would travel with the team to Philadelphia on Monday for the start of a five game road series.

Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno left the game on a stretcher after a collision with a linesman.
