Detroit Red Wings center Stephen Weiss sustained a separated shoulder on Friday against the Florida Panthers, but the injury is not believed to be serious, according to the report.
Weiss is day-to-day, but Red Wings general manager Ken Holland told The Free Press that he may end up missing several games.
Since Weiss joined the Red Wings prior to the 2013-14 season, he has dealt with a slew of injuries. He spent most of last season on the sideline, and this season he has continued to fight through a series of ailments.
Weiss returned to the Red Wings' lineup on Nov. 24, tallying 10 points in 10 games since then.
