CHICAGO (AP) Chicago's Jackie Robinson West has received a warm welcome at the Blackhawks' game against New Jersey after it was shown on the videoboard just days after Little League International stripped the team of its national championship.

The players were in a suite for Friday night's game, and there were loud cheers when they were recognized during a stoppage of play in the first period. Several fans stood and applauded.

Little League International announced Wednesday that team officials had violated regulations by including players who didn't qualify because they lived outside the team's boundaries, then scrambled to get adjacent leagues to go along with the scheme. Officials with Jackie Robinson West have hired an attorney to conduct an investigation into the matter.

The Blackhawks said before the game they made plans to host the team ''several months ago,'' and were excited to have the players as their guests.
