Buffalo Sabres defenseman Josh Gorges is close to being done for the season.
Gorges has been dealing with a lower body injury and was originally considered day-to-day. He last played on Feb. 10 in a game against the Senators.
"It’s leaning that way, but we’ll see in the next little bit here," Sabres coach Ted Nolan said of the prospect of Gorges missing the rest of the season. "He's getting final information. He’ll make a final decision in probably 24 to 48 hours."
Gorges has six assists in 46 games played this season. The 30-year-old is an 11-year veteran and currently in his first season in Buffalo.
The Sabres (17-37-4) host the New York Rangers on Friday night.
