The Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman Korbinian Holzer in a trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In return, the Maple Leafs received defenseman Eric Brewer and a fifth-round 2016 draft pick.

Holzer, 27, appeared in 34 games for the Maple Leafs this season and recorded six assists with an average ice time of 17:06. He sustained a concussion on his first shift during Sunday's game against the Washington Capitals and his status has yet to be determined.

[daily_cut.nhl]Holzer was a fourth-round draft pick by the Maple Leafs in 2006. Over his five-year career, he has appeared in 58 games with nine points (two goals, seven assists).

Brewer, 35, appeared in nine games for the Ducks this season after he was traded by the Tampa Bay Lightning in November. A 17-year NHL veteran, Brewer has appeared in 26 games this season and recorded six points (one goal, five assists) in an average ice time of 17:38.

The Ducks (40-17-7) lead the Pacific Division with 87 points. The Maple Leafs (25-33-5) are seventh in the Atlantic Division with 55.
