San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres was ejected from Saturday’s preseason game.

San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres was ejected from Saturday’s preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks after a hit to the head of Jakob Silfverberg.

Torres appeared to hit Silfverberg with his elbow or shoulder after Silfverberg had already gotten rid of the puck.

Torres has been suspended four times by the NHL for on-ice incidents. He has played in only 16 games the last two seasons because of knee injuries. 

Torres would not be considered a repeat offender if the hit is reviewed by the NHL department of player safety because he has not had any suspensions in the past 18 months. However, the league is allowed to consider a player’s history when levying a punishment.
