Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron created a new type of hat trick on Wednesday by scoring a goal, notching an assist and becoming a father.

It was a pretty hectic day for Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron

The morning started with the birth of his first child, a baby boy named Zack. 

Hours later, the team confirmed he'd be in the lineup for Wednesday's game again the Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden, despite having just one hour of sleep.

That's all he needed, however, scoring what is quickly becoming known as the "Patrice Bergeron hat trick." In addition to his newborn child, the Bruins center assisted on Brett Connolly's first period goal, and then added his own tally in the second on a power play, his third man-advantage goal in two games. 

>Just a little bit longer and Bergeron can celebrate his monumental day with his first "dad nap." Oh, and baby Zack? He's already building a memorabilia collection:
