Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon scored a goal for the highlight reel, deking out Rangers D Dan Girardi along the boards and sniping a shot past Henrik Lundqvist.

November 06, 2015

Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon announced his presence with authority against the visiting New York Rangers on Friday night at the Pepsi Center.

The third-year forward and 2013 first-overall draft pick danced his way around Rangers defender Dan Girardi maneuvering his way toward the net, catching blueliner Ryan McDonagh flat-footed. The 20-year-old former Calder Trophy winner finished if off by sneaking a shot from the goalline past Henrik Lundqvist.

ROUNDTABLE: McDavid out, who becomes Calder Trophy frontrunnner?

Not too shabby for the young gun, who now has six goals and 15 points in 14 games on the season.
