Alexei Emelin’s night ended early following an open-ice hit against on the Blue Jackets’ Matt Calvert.
The call on the ice was a five-minute major for interference and a game misconduct. The Canadiens will be forced to finish their night a defenseman short.
Did the refs on the ice get this one right or was it a little harsh? It’s a play that the league might take another look at. The last suspension handed down from league was only three nights ago when Brandon Dubinsky was punished for his hit on Sidney Crosby.
