Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf scored his second goal of the season on Sunday night, snapping a 16-game goal-less streak
This is not a drill: Ryan Getzlaf has scored a goal, and there was even a goalie in the net this time. It’s his second goal of the season. His other was an empty-netter ...16 games ago. Yes, it was against the Flyers with Steve Mason in net, but it is a baby step for the Ducks’ captain.
Here’s his second tally in 30 games this year:

Ryan Getzlaf just scored his first goal on a goalie since April.— Mark Millard (@kramdrallim) December 28, 2015
The 16-game drought was his longest between goals since the 2011–12 season.
Anaheim will need to make sure Getzlaf keeps it going if it wants to climb out of the hole it’s in, but luckily the Ducks are in the Pacific division. Despite being in dead last in the Western Conference, they are only six points away from catching the Sharks for the division’s third playoff spot.
