Rangers’ Staal makes incredible save on shot from Lightning’s Filppula

Thursday December 31st, 2015
Had New York RangersMarc Staal sneezed in his save attempt during Wednesday's night game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Valtteri Filppula would have scored the go ahead goal in the beginning of the third period.  Instead, fans and detractors got the save of the night as Staal prevented the puck from crossing the line, one rotation of the flipping puck shy of a goal.

Tampa fans had to wait nearly two minutes before there was a pause in the game for a review of the play.
Filppula’s shot was deflected off Henrik Lundqvist’s glove and went end over end towards the line.  Staal managed to stop the puck in time.
