Forget first game jitters with a new team, Ryan Johansen didn’t even wait five minutes to score his first goal with the Nashville Predators.

The Predators’ newest forward got all the space he wanted down low on a power play against the Colorado Avalanche and Johansen waited to pick a corner above goalie Semyon Varlamov on his first shot wearing his new jersey.

Johansen was acquired by Nashville on Wednesday in a trade that sent defenseman Seth Jones to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Friday’s slate marked the first action for both of players and their new squads.

The debate over which team won the trade will continue, but Johansen gave everyone in Nashville something to brag about right away.
