BOSTON (AP) Boston Bruins prospect Malcolm Subban is in stable condition after fracturing his larynx during an American Hockey League game on Saturday.
The Bruins say in a statement on their website Sunday that the goalie was transported to Maine Medical Center and stayed there overnight after being struck in the throat with a puck during warmups before Providence's game against the Portland Pirates.
Subban was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Sunday for further evaluation.
Subban, the younger brother of Montreal Canadiens star P.K. Subban, tweeted a photo of himself from the hospital Sunday night with the caption: ''Thanks for all the support!''
The 22-year-old Subban is 14-8-5 with the Bruins' AHL team this season. He has a 2.44 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
