When a team calls a press conference just days after being upset in the playoffs, they're not usually bringing everyone together to tout a job well done.
So when the Pittsburgh Penguins revealed they'd have a major announcement to make at 11:30 this morning, it was immediately assumed that coach Dan Bylsma had been given his walking papers.
Now it appears that general manager Ray Shero will join him on the unemployment line.
McKenzie later tweeted that assistant general manager Jason Botterill will temporarily assume Shero's duties until a replacement is decided upon.
There's already speculation that Shero or Bylsma, or perhaps both, could snag the open jobs with the Washington Capitals.
