Hall of Fame cacher Gary Carter passed away today after a battle with brain cancer, according to MLB’s official Twitter account.

Carter played 19 years in the major leagues, winning three Gold Gloves and five Silver Sluggers behind the plate. Since his retirement Carter has served as a broadcaster and coach. He was 57-years-old.
